Well...after 3 months Gulf Air have still not satisfied me with an answer to my EU compensation claim. I'm probably being fobbed off as the excuse is always Bahrain have to look into it. Basically , going out of London, flight was cancelled for 24 hours.
I'm now going to sue them in the small claims court...before I do...anybody with any experience...or any other trade bodies worth contacting to give them a polite shove. Thanks.

I have never had problems with them before concerning compensation. It takes time, but it comes.

I would recommend that if you are going to sue them that you have everything well documented. Certified letters always help.

I am not sure I would be willing to put up with this headache for a few hundred bucks....

I'm all for the suing them. I know it sounds a tad heartless (especially with all the problems they are having right now,) but I have seen to many examples of airlines weasling out of paying what they have to. Can you imagine what would happen if you refused to pay the airline after changing a flight etc? You'd be laughed at and refused boarding.

I don't have any experience of actually getting to the court level - most problems with sorted with constant emails back and forth to the airline (some took up to 1 year to sort out.)

However, it is very important to

- make it clear to GF that you intend to file a legal complaint if they fail to co-operate. Take down the name of the person if they still refuse to help you.

When at court:

- have a clear explanation of what happened
- original / copies of all travel documents including boarding passes
- documentation of contact made with GF in attempt to get the compensation (very important)

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Cheers
