Has anyone flown JFK - AUH on Etihad in business? It's about the same fare as Emirates, and given their decline in service and over popularity, i'm considering Etihad for my trip this week.
thanks!
thanks!

Yazza May 24, 07, 8:54 am Havent yet, although I am taking it next week, I have heard many good things.... mecabq May 24, 07, 9:38 am I haven't taken either on this route, but I like your idea. I'd be surprised if it was not at least as comfortable as Emirates. Of course, that's a lot of frequent flier miles to forego, unless you're collecting them on EY or SN Brussels Airlines, which appears to be their only partner so far. . . aintwhatuthink May 24, 07, 9:52 am I have flown twice on etihad J once to JFK and to Jakarta. Chauffer driven mercedes pick up and on board service is excellent. The seats are much better than Emirates. Overall a much much better experience than Emirates! sadiqhassan May 24, 07, 11:44 am Has anyone flown JFK - AUH on Etihad in business? I think the conclusion I can make is that the seating is much better than Emirates' seating but the service and ground products aren't as good. EY only paid for a limo one-way (from AUH not to AUH  ) and the lounge wasn't stellar. Food was edible but not spectacular and cabin crew service was competent but not friendly. However, we paid Rs 114,000 (C$2,000 at the time) vs. Rs 206,000 (C$3,700) for Emirates without the added pain of a JFK transit for Karachi - Toronto. I think if the prices were the same, I would have gone with Emirates. The amazing entertainment, 000s of miles and food would have swayed me. If you want to sleep, EY is the better choice. If you want to stay awake, EK is the better choice IMHO Here are some pictures of the seating http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1168209/M/ http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1094668/M/ http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1037921/M/ Cheers krazykat May 30, 07, 1:19 pm Wow, the J class looks awesome! I'd take sleep over entertainment anytime sadiqhassan May 30, 07, 2:40 pm Wow, the J class looks awesome! I'd take sleep over entertainment anytime I tend to stay awake on flights which is why IFE is important. If you want to sleep, go with EY. I found it more comfortable than even EK (A330-200) F. Also - choose one of the window seats. It has direct aisle access as well as lots of windows. Cheers |
