Since a few slagged Hilton for its poor performance at Freddies etc on the loyalty program side, thought I would post this news that I couldn't find in a search that they had done OK on the hotel side with German Business Traveller magazine awards in January 2007:

HILTON SWEEPS THE BOARD AT
GERMAN BUSINESS TRAVELLER AWARDS 2007
January 2007, Frankfurt - Hilton emerged victorious today at the prestigious German Business Traveller Reader Awards by winning five top accolades. For the sixth consecutive year Hilton received the award as Best hotel chain worldwide and Best hotel chain in Europe. For the first time Hilton was awarded Best hotel chain in Germany and therefore dethroned the German hotel chains which were the leaders for many years.
In total Hilton Hotels received the following ten awards:
No. 1 in the category
Best hotel chain worldwide
Best hotel chain in Europe
Best hotel chain in Germany
Hilton Paris - Best individual hotel in Europe
hilton.de - Best internet domain for business travellers
No. 2 in the category
Best hotel chain in the Middle East
Best hotel chain in North America
The Waldorf=Astoria - Best individual hotel in North America
No. 3 in the category
Hilton Berlin - Best individual hotel in Germany
Hilton Vienna - Best individual hotel in Europe These awards are voted for by the German readers of Business Traveller magazine, which means the recognition comes directly from the guests. About 3,000 readers casted their ballots for the Hilton hotels concerning service, staff friendliness, room equipment, hotel design, best price value and business standards & services.
