I apologize if this has been covered, but I have enough miles for a *A C award to S. Asia. Since most of my flying is on AA/Oneworld, I am not very familiar with *A. So, am I allowed a stopover on this award? If so, what are my options?
Thank You

On whose miles are using your award on? I think it would be better if you check THAT programme's rules.

If you're using UA miles, awards between regions allow 1 enroute stopover.

UA allows one stopover EITHER in the departure region OR in the destination region.
By Murphy's law the desirable stopover points are always in a third region, in your case "N Asia" destinations are excluded.

Thank you for the replies. The miles are with Mileage Plus. However, I would like to fly SQ, LH, or an airline other than UA. Is a stopover still allowed if using the UA miles on these airlines?
How long of a stopover am I allowed?
Thank You

Yes 1 stopover allowed. A stopover is more than 24 hours. And however long you want....

So if you're flying to SE Asia, you can't have a stopover in NRT or ICN?

Certainly.
LH isn't an option form ORD-HKG (as far as I know, at least without paying the higher US-Europe-Asia mileage requirement), but SQ, TG, NH, and OZ certainly are.
I always try to take advantage both of the free stopover and the great opportunity to hit some extra cities for less than 24 hours, which doesn't count as a stopover.

Yes, you can. For example, my second to last Star Alliance business class redemption featured SAT-DEN-SFO-HKG [12 hour layover]-SIN [destination]-NRT [two day stopover]-SFO-SAT.

That's good to hear, cause I wanted to book an award ticket IAD-SGN with a stopover in NRT
Is there a map or list that defines what destinations are in what region? Or is it just by continent?
