My first trip report so bear with me!

Checked in online the day before and arrived 2 hours before my flight.Bags checked in swiftly at the j class counter by a very nice Iberia rep. Used to Anna Liva lounge which in my opinion has nicer offerings that EI lounge in terms of food choice. Walked the short distance to the gate but no priority boarding for J class for some stranage reason. The seats were comfy with good pitch and the menu for the short flight was very nice with good spanish wine selections. Arrived on time but the walk to my gate for Gran Canaria took 15 mins so never used the lounge.

Flight to Gran Canaria was a treat as it was one of the A340s they use for long haul. Very comfy and I managed a good hours sleep before we landed. Found the crew very professional and friendly on the out bound and inbound and would use Iberia again without a hesitation. After 3 days of partying in Gran Canaria the flat bed was very much appreciated on the way back!

I'd say that was a very good first trip report. ^

What meals were offered on the short haul?

Yes, must have been great to discover you'd be travelling onwards in real C! :D

I flew IB from Geneva to New York and I liked it. The A340 was comfortable, the food was excellent and Madrid Airport is a pleasure. The entertainment was crummy with no personal screnes and the crew were so so. However from GVa to Madrid they still use very old DC-9s in really bad condition. Broken armchair etc. And you pay for the food. Also you only get 33% of the miles if you fly Y on the AA program. However overall I liked the trip and prefer them over CO and LX who fly nonstop from GVA to NYC.
