I know that you can select free wif-fi as one of your perks as Gold or Diamond with H-Honors. Does this offer apply to international Hilton Properties?

In the UAE, they've been known to try and fleece you for US$35 a night for wifi.

Free wi-fi is not a stated benefit option for international Hiltons. In fact, out of all HH properties it is available only at Embassy Suites and North American Hiltons.

Your experiences at individual properties in terms of waiving internet charges to Diamonds (above and beyond the required benefits) may vary.

This is my understanding too. The GOOD news is some of the international Hiltons have a wired computer or two with free internet available in the exec lounge. The BAD news is it is getting tougher-n-tougher to get upgraded to the exec lounges. I rarely take my laptop internationally anymore and rely on local internet cafes (not the outrageously overpriced Hilton Hotal Business Centers).

And here in the UK, they'll get you for like 15-20 pounds per night, close to or greater than $40 at this time.

But that's ripoff England for you.

Hilton at the Creek Dubai offeres free wirless connection in the exec lounge, but in the rooms it costs (the usual arm and leg). Same is now true in Conrad HKG lounge.

I am not aware of any Hilton/Conrad international properties (that I stay at) offering free wifi as an alternative benefit. Occasionally I have received a free day access for various reasons.

The Embassy Suites Detroit/Livonia/Novi gives free wifi to golds and diamonds - even if you do not have it as your preference

Doubletree offers now too.

Really? Not according to HH:

DoubletreeŽ (Select One)

* Upgrade to Executive Floor (if available)
* OR Executive Floor Lounge access (if the hotel has a Lounge)
* OR complimentary continental breakfast for the member and one guest each day of the stay.

1,000 HHonors bonus points

I thought it was free at all HGI and Hamptons.

Of course it is. But that's not what this thread is about. OP was asking about VIP benefit options for Golds and Diamonds at "full-service" properties, when you can choose free internet as your "perk" instead of extra points or an upgrade, or free breakfast, etc.
