Hi everyone,
Yesterday, I've used for the first my complimentary SPG Gold membership upon check-in at the Sheraton Hotel and Marina in SAN. I am there for a convention and I'm not the one paying for my room (and the room booked was probably one of the cheapest rate availbale). So I just showed the check-in agent my SPG Gold card thinking it couldn't hurt (but not expecting anything from it), and I had the nice surprise to find myself upgraded to a Club Level Floor Junior Suite. I must say that for my first try, I am quite happy with SPG!
I, however, noticed that my room card doesn't allow me to use the elevator to get to the lounge. Should I politely ask why at the Front Desk? Or would you think that I'm asking too much ?
Does SPG usually upgrade people to a Club Level Floor room without subsequently granting access to their lounge?
(I don't want to go to the Front Desk and sound like a complete jerk not acknowledging the fact that I've already got a nice upgrade. However, if someone here thinks that access to their lounge is part of the upgrade, I'll probably ask)
Thanks everyone for your opinion!
Cheers,
Fred.
