Hilton HHonors - eCheck-in funny messages
What's your best funny message from eCheck-in?
I have this right now on my screen when trying to eCheck-in at Hilton Garden Inn, Westbury:
<name>, since your upgrade was not available, we have selected the following room for you:
Room <number>
1 KING BED JR SUITE
NO-SMOKING ROOM; PULL OUT COUCH; SUITE; FLOOR <number>;
Well, if a junior suite isn't considered an upgrade, what would then an upgrade look like?
Note: <name> and <number> is my edit
Wohuou! Congratulations to that!
Can you tell me where I can actually find the eCheck in? I tried hard but cannot find it :eek:

Wirelessly posted (My IV to the Net: BlackBerry7250/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)
That must have been a nice surprise. ^
I have had the opposite happen... "You have been upgraded to the following room: Queen non-smoking, 1st floor, near elevator."
When the room I booked was a queen non-smoking (and my pref is high floor, away from elevator).
So exactly what I booked. Nice "upgrade". ;)
I always chuckle when that happens.
I then cancel out of eCheck-in and try my luck at the front desk.

I got a similar message yesterday. Used e-check in and then recieved an email telling me the rate went up $50! Took me over an hour to get the original confirmed rate honored (I had the printed e-check in confirmation with the original/correct rate on it). No one could figure our how to override the e-check in system, once it had made an error. The hotel finally manually over rode it. I am in my "suite" now. I sent off a pointed letter to the gold desk, no reply so far.

When echeckin gives you a message saying that your room has already been selected, it means that the hotel has already preassigned your room in advance and in your case, already upgraded you in advance. The system is saying no upgrade is available since its trying to upgrade you from what the hotel assigned to you and of course since its a HGI, the best you can get is a Jr Suite.
