May still take a while, as lots of passengers on this route are *G and/or in business class, but quicker than regular economy line. Security queues take 15-30+ minutes in my experience. As long as check in before cut off you'll make it through security okay for boarding (although may not have time to visit any lounge you have access to). Unless the OP is taking the Qantas flight (which doesn't match the departure times given so would not seem to be the case), this is the right forum. The OP is asking about check in and security for an Air NZ flight. tommyleo May 14, 07, 6:51 pm Is US Gold *G or *S? If *G then you can check in at the priority line. (BTW, I am taking an Air New Zealand flight.) I'm *G, so that should help the check-in process. Actually, I'm originating in PHL on USAir, and I will probably have an (intentional) 8-hour layover in L.A. If I interline my bags at PHL, do I need to check-in again? Also, I'm travelling with a team. So if we did need to check-in again, what is the companion limit for using the *G line? california09 May 14, 07, 7:57 pm Huh? The OP is asking about check in and security for an Air NZ flight. You are correct - sorry, I thought this was a general LAX question and I didnt make the mental connection on the NZ flight. I apologize. trooper May 30, 07, 9:27 pm BTT... I'd be interested in answers to both of those questions too!!! Kiwi Flyer May 30, 07, 9:44 pm If on separate tickets then will not be able to check in (get boarding pass) for NZ flight except at LAX T2. This is independent of being able to tag bags through. If on same ticket, may or may not be able to check in at origin, depending on whether the NZ flight is open for remote check in early enough. Note that on flights from US to NZ where BP is issued by another airline, NZ will want to reissue the boarding pass at LAX which can be done in the lounge (if have access) or at the gate. As for how many companions. If on the same ticket should be everyone. If on different tickets then in theory none can join you - but in practice 1 or 2 may be okay. |
