SAS EuroBonus - Lounge Access on Partial Star Alliance Itineraries

I have a few questions about lounge access as an EBG when part of my itinerary is not on *A.

Here is the relevant text from the EBG pages on sas.ee, with some parts I highlighted:

EuroBonus Gold members traveling on a same-day ticket with SAS, a Star Alliance carrier or other SAS airline partner, are welcome to bring one guest or their immediate family into the following lounges:
- SAS Scandinavian Lounges
- SAS Business Lounges
- SAS Domestic Lounge Arlanda

(snip)

Departing EuroBonus Gold members holding a same-day outward ticket on a scheduled flight with a Star Alliance airline have privileged access to lounges operated by Star Alliance partner airlines and other SAS EuroBonus partner lounges.

Here are three scenarios:

1. Last week I was flying FAO-LGW-TLL, with the first part on BA, and the second part on OV. Both flights were on the same itinerary. The woman in the TP lounge (*A lounge, it's contracted actually and not run by TP despite being in Portugal) said I couldn't access the lounge. I think this is correct since I was traveling on OV which is not a *A member, but rather a SAS partner airline. However, as usual in LGW, I was given access to the lounge for SAS (which is contracted).

First question with this scenario: If I was flying SK instead of OV for the LGW-TLL portion (let's pretend such a flight existed), would I be allowed into the lounge at FAO because I am traveling on a same-day departure on a *A carrier?

Next question: Traveling on OV from LGW, I am always given access to the lounge. It is not run by SAS. Does that mean it is still considered a SAS Business Lounge and that's why I'm given access? In this scenario, I'm flying on a SAS partner airline, but not a *A airline (since OV is not in *A).

2. Next scenario. Next month, I will fly TLL-ARN-FRA on SK (the TLL-ARN is an SK code-share operated by OV, but I don't think that is important for this question). Then, I am booked on a separate itinerary FRA-HKG on CX, which departs a few hours after I arrive in FRA.

First question: Am I given access to the LH *A lounge in FRA because I have (had, by the time I arrive) a same-day departure on a *A carrier?

Next question: Does the answer to the question above change if all flights were on the same itinerary?

3. Final scenario. Similar to Scenario 2 above. I will fly SYD-HKG-FRA on CX (2 hour stop in HKG and change to another flight), and then a few hours later FRA-ARN-TLL on SK on a separate itinerary. I depart SYD and HKG on one day, and SK on another day, simply due to how long the flights are and their late-night departures (i.e. I don't have a layover in any of these places more than a few hours). So the "same-day departure" would not apply in terms of looking at lounge access rules. Do I have any chance of lounge access in SYD or HKG as an EBG? I know in FRA, I can use the LH lounge since that will be the start of my SK flights.

Thanks for any advice.

You only get lounge access at the departure airport based on your next upcoming flight (with a very few airline-specific exceptions).

In FAO you did not get lounge access because you were flying BA, you would have needed BA/OW status or a BA business class BP to get access.

In FRA you won't get access since you are departing on CX, you are not entitled to lounge access upon arrival (with a very few exceptions like arriving on LH in F).
You would again need CX/OW status or a CX C/F BP for access.

Same thing in Hong Kong, you are travelling on CX and need to meet whatever criteria they have for lounge access. *A won't care about you unless you depart on a *A-operated flight from HKG.
In FRA you will obviously get access as you are travelling on SK.

If you have a Diners Club card you will get access to lounges in both HKG and FRA!

Which lounge to use in FRA with the Diners Club card?

I asked the airport information a very early saturday morning in January 2007, and they said "no such lounge anymore"...

Diners used to have it's own lounge, now it is the Sky Club lounge. Notice that it only opens at 8 am. You find all location and opening times info of Diners Club lounges here:
