hey guys,
a friend of mine is trying to book a ticket to go from nyc to paris or berlin or somewhere that can connect to either city via LCC. her dates are approximately around june 22 - july 2.

last i heard air india is sold out for all of june and july....i was thinking maybe she could do zoom air, but right now the US Dept of Transportaion Regulations isn't allowing flights zoom to operate in the states. i guess she could buy a ticket leaving from montreal to paris...although i don't know how easy the logistics would be for that.

what do you guys think? any other ideas?

thanks!

At aa.com, NYC-Pairs seats seem to be available for 1029, which is good price at your desired travel time. About Air India, I don't know who have you heard from. I would call a few ethnic travel agents in NYC to make sure.

Just got tix a week ago on student universe to Paris on AF for 959. More than what I wanted to pay, but apparently still was a good deal.

Interesting site. For NYC-Paris (June) they still have seats at 986. However, Chicago-Delhi (Sep) is 1450+, quite a bit more than what is available through other channels. Still, something to look at if you are student/faculty.

Your friend could try kayak.com or farecompare.com to search for flights.

Probably the cheapest hubs to fly into would be London or Frankfurt, and she could look at skyscanner.net to get an idea of the onward fares on LCC.

To be honest, in summer and at such (relatively) short notice the bargains aren't likely to be that great!

Prices into Dublin have been relatively cheap for summer travel, though your friend will need to be fleixble with dates to get a decent rate. A quick check of sample prices shows DL at $620 all in for summer travel (I checked June 20th-July 5th).

There is also a charter-ish airline called flyglobespan that goes from JFK to either Liverpool or Knock (Ireland). Of those, Liverpool is a better choice for onward LCC connections to the Continent.
