Hilton HHonors - Fast Track to Gold Promo.

I got a mailing from Amex - "Savings at Work" for Corp Amex card holders offering accelerated Silver/Gold status.

4 stays in 90 days gets you Gold, 2 stays gets you silver. You have to phone to register - call 1-800-548-8690, and ask for Promotion code AMEX.

I wasn't asked for any kind of backup details beyond what I provided above, so it seems like anyone could use this.

Tried it but was forced to sign up a new HH membership card.
The fine print says only for new HH members. So just know that.

Not my experience - there is a footnote in the mailing saying call with that code if you are an existing member - which I am (Silver), and which I did.

I called, and they entered the code for my existing account; the fast track even showed up on the graphical elite qual display on the website a day or 2 later as a short red bar (above the long green ones).

I've been able to register to this promotion on my existing HHonros account even with the Israeli address on file.

I've also been able to register and now I've become gold (I only had 5 stays needed before gold). So it only made a small difference.

But I live in Belgium, So it seem to be open for all HHmembers.

Normally, HHonors fast track promos allow one to stay at any Hilton family of hotels. Does this HHonors fast track promo allow for stays at all Hilton family of hotels, or only at the Hilton and Doubletree chains?

Therefore, is the Savings for work promo overlapping, but different from, the HHonors fast tract promo?

Do you need to use an AMEX card at checkout? That would be a nonstarter for me.

How long would this Gold last for? Thru April 2008, or 2009?

I called just now to get the code added to my account, but was told by the CSR that the AMEX code is for employees of American Express. Didn't sound like she knew too much about what she was talking about. I just played dumb. She gave me "a one time exception" and added the code to my account. :)

The fast track to gold worked for me with 4 stays including one reward stay with Embassy Suites, one stay at the Las Vegas Hilton booked through LVHilton.com and one stay in Hilton Kauai using the Entertainment rate :) .

I had a fast track to gold 4 stays over 90 days. I requalified last week and am now gold until April 2009.:)
