Other Middle East and Africa Frequent Flyer Programs - SAA business class recent experiences?

From US to JNB? I was concerned about bankrupcy or other cut backs due to corporate issues.

The South African government will bail out SAA for a long time to come, so no worries here.

My experience with SAA biz class is varied. The really only consistent part of the trip is the truly great, truly FLAT bed. It's really a great seat, and even as a really tall guy, 6'7" always get a good sleep on this.

The service and the FA's are really, varied. From totally horrible and unacceptable to outstanding service with real South African warmth and friendliness. I stated in another post, the last three flights, I've had liquor spilled on me by drunk pax walking up/down the aisle. FA's did nothing, and it was NOT a good experience.

I find the food on SA biz very good, but very, small portions. There's also very little reading material, so make sure you get your books and magazines before you board!

I agree with the other posters, service is sometimes exceptional and other times lacking. I do enjoy the seats, even the older ones on the 747.
