Budget Travel - shipping a bag from Bulgaria to the US

My friend has been in Bulgaria for several months and wants to travel around Europe by rail for several weeks this summer before returning home to the United States. She has too much to carry around the entire time and is looking for an affordable way to send one bag back to the US. (I told her to just give a bag's worth of winter clothes away, but don't think she's buying into it.)
Any suggestions?

find a box, put things in box, tape box shut. go to post office and send surface to US.

Other than that, if she has family or friends in europe, maybe they can hold it for her.

Sometimes the most practical is, well... the most practical solution. :D ^

I guess I assumed that idea had gotten thrown out. Probably is the best way to go though.

Once your friend finds out how much it costs, will reconsider being a good samaritan and giving it away ;)
