Air New Zealand Air Points - Airpoints Retro Claim
Now that Airpoints contact centre has moved from Christchurch to Auckland, has anyone recently submitted any claim? I found it really really slow for them to process. Had posted hotel receipts some 8 weeks ago and 4 sectors on partner airlines 2 weeks ago, still no credit has been posted. Anyone had any luck?

I was advised that there is currently a 6-8 weeks backlog for letters to be opened. I don't if it has anything to do with the shift but 6-8 weeks are too long. What about other airlines in the world? Will this be considered normal?

I haven't any recent missing airbucks claims, although suspect I will need to judging by the lack of appearance of credit for SQ flights some weeks later. In the past, other than Hilton, all missing airbucks claims posted within a few weeks of submission.
6-8 weeks if true is ridiculous.

I sent in a request for Hertz and Sofitel credits about a month ago. Still not credited...

What happened to SQ flight credits? My recent SQ flights have not credited in 2 weeks although my NZ number was visible on boarding pass. My past SQ flights usually credit within 3 days.

Ditto. SQ flights on 10 & 13 April have still not credited - but have appeared on my Krisflyer a/c with PPS credits and description "Credited to other FFP NZ" followed by NZ Airpoints No.

I think it is due to the new PPS Value system. They used to credit for PPS within hours and to other FFP within 1 or 2 days.

I finally got it! It took a month to get the points into my account.

OK an update. My SQ flights from April 10 & 13 have still not posted. Sent off BP's mid May and still waiting. :td:

Not good. Other than NZ's own flights I've had to chase up for every flight in the past 2 months to get credit.

May move to Australia later. Where do you send the documents to? In Australia or New Zealand?

A Sydney address is provided to send them to, which is what I did. I suspect it may be quicker to send direct to NZ though.
I just had to ring the service centre about another issue and happened to mention that I've had several sectors (both NZ and other *A carriers) over the past 6 weeks that haven't been credited. The agent was really helpful and took care of the NZ credits on the spot - I should mention that the online "claim missing airpoints" form wouldn't process my request.
Anyway, the really good news is that I was also informed that travel on partner and *A flights can now be claimed online. OK, it'll still take up to 60 days for them to show on the account, but hey - it's a start, right?
You just click on the new link in the Claim Missing Airpoints section:
"For missing travel on wholly Air New Zealand itineraries, please complete details below. For trips including Star Alliance and partner airlines, click here. For trips including car rentals or holiday reservations click here."
Apparently this feature has been up and running for about 5 days now. ^^

FWIW missing airbucks for recent NZ only itinerary posted within an hour of using the online claim (showed in the detail listing almost straight away and took a bit longer to update my balance and requalification progress).

That is good news. Although given the recent responsiveness of elite desk I think I'll continue providing them the details of missing partner flights.

Now it's back that will save postage :) (Though knowing me that service has been back for months, but I digress...)

FYI:
I called the airpoints line on an unrelated matter today, and mentioned a retro claim I mailed in some time ago (transaction date was Easter, sent receipt in about a fortnight later).
The person I spoke to said that today the airpoints centre is opening mail that came in with a received date of May the 1st!!! She assured me that they had hired extra staff. and were "catching up quickly" with the backlog.
However, seems it is getting worse? Xiaotung was quoted 6-8 weeks; May the 1st is over 10 weeks ago!
Lesson is: always remember to bring your card with you for partner transactions!
Hopefully all will be sorted soon...

Doesn't always work. For my missing SQ flights my NZ number was in my booking (confirmed at check in), showed up on my BP as NZ*G, and the flights are listed in my Krisflyer account (due to PPS credit) as points going to my NZ number (number is actually listed).
Nevertheless, the flights (taken in April) were actually credited yesterday after 3 months! :) Now just waiting for the missing Hilton stays (which are listed in in my Hilton HHonors account as going to NZ ... ) ........

Was your SQ flight credited automatically? I think the problem lies with SQ for the last few months. Also although CA and FM have become Airpoints partners none of the check in desks I went to accepts NZ card number, even if they did in Beijing the credit never came through until I posted the documents. As for hotel credits, I have had to chase up every time for Starwood stays. Does anyone know if Le Meridien hotels earn Airpoints? Only InterContinental hotels points transfers flow great.

No, I followed up with a letter and copy of Boarding Passes, and then when the online submission process came available I followed up with providing the seat no's via this process. I think that SQ may be the problem, as subsequent TG flights came through within a few days.
As for hotels ..... hmmm ..... Hilton usually comes through quickly. I had two early June stays, one (the first) came through within days, the second has still not come through. Last October, I had 5 stays over a two week period, 4 of those came through instantly, the other I am still following up (despite having sent off invoice for claiming months ago). All stays listed on HHonors as posting to NZ.

Ever since NZ added a new online feature to claim partner airline flight online, my friend and I have had different experience in successfully receiving credit. I am not really sure how this works but it seems somebody doesn't know what they are doing.
I have claimed a flight booked on Shanghai Airlines full economy Y class but only the discount economy rate was credited. My friend's SWISS flight booked in discount economy was credited business class rate. What's more bizarre was he was even credited couple of flights he had never flown on both Shanghai Air and Air China. I am not questioning if he claiming flights he never booked is ethical or not, it's just not fair for people paying for flights and doing mileage runs. So where is the problem? Is it the NZ credit department or partner airlines accepting wrong claims?
