Hi All,
GF website states..The bag must not exceed the following dimensions: 45 x 35 x 16 cms....does anybody have any recent experience as to how strictly they are applying these meagre size limits ex-LHR??
Thanks.

Basically I'd follow BAA's guidelines' as it's their restrictions that matter when flying out of LHR:

Passengers are allowed to carry ONE item of hand baggage, no larger than:

*
56 centimetres tall (approximately 22 inches)
*
45 centimetres wide (approximately 17.7 inches)
*
25 centimetres deep (approximately 10 inches)

And yes, they are strict on it.

See this interesting THREAD on why you should comply to these standards.

Thanks for this. Yes, I am aware of the BAA policy and their intent on enforcing this. GF standards are for smaller sized bags - that was my main concern - as my wheelie bag is to BAA standards but not GFs! Have decided to go for my smallest carry-on now, inconvenient though that may be, as this will meet the silly GF standard  And yes, I have read that thread - scary - though I already knew that most BAA security staff feel the way that goon does - so absolutely no surprise to me ;) , sadly....
