Other Middle East and Africa Frequent Flyer Programs - KQ (Kenya Airways) - C Seats same on 767 and 777?

Hi,
On our way back to the US from Kenya, we have a choice of two flights:
* KQ 112, NBO-CDG on a 767, or
* KQ102, NBO-LHR, on a 777.
We will be flying in C, 'Premier World' class (using NW miles).

The KQ website states that the C seats in the 777 have 76" of pitch and are lie-flat seats. The website states that on the 767, the C seats only have 58" of pitch, but those seats also become flat.

I called KQ's office in NYC, and was told that the C seats in both planes are exactly the same. :confused:
Does anybody have experience with Premier World seats on both types of planes? Can you confirm whether the seats are the same? Also, are there any other differences between the two planes for C pax (AVOD, etc?)

All else being equal, I'd prefer flying through CDG (shudder to think...), since our onward connection is better through CDG, and the Premium Pax Airport Taxes should be significantly lower than LHR's.

Thanks for your input!

The KQ 767 and 777 are considerably different in business class. The 767 while having a flat bed, has an older style seating. The 777 has the brand new seats, which in my opinion are more comfortable. Also the 777 has AVOD, whereas the 767 has the older style movie channels on a loop.

I would take the 777 any day.

Roadwarriorafrica - thanks for your reply. I'm sorry to hear that the seats on the 767 are different than those on the 777. I think we'll still stick with the 767 on the way back from NBO (we'll have the 777 on the way to NBO), since the CDG schedule works better for us (not to mention the cheaper taxes compared to LHR).

One more question - do you have any experience on KQ's C class on their 737's (NBO-SEZ)? Looks like a 3-hour flight, can you give me any info on food, ife, seat comfort, other onboard services?

Can you tell we're getting excited about our trip yet? :p

The seats have footrests and are quite comfortable, but recline and pitch are not impressive, although quite adequate for a 3 to 4 hour flight. IFE consists of bulkhead screens. Best viewed from rows 2 and 3, with the other rows being too close and too far respectively. Since the IFE doesn't really amount to much, that need not be a major consideration. My experience is limited to NBO-JNB morning flights, on which a hot breakfast is served. The options are savory and sweet. Not bad, by airline standards. After the tea/coffee service the cabin staff tend to disappear, but do respond immediately if the call button is pressed.

Bostonbali -
Looks like you are taking a trip I just got back from ... I went AMS>NBO>SEZ and out SEZ>NBO>CDG (all in econ though) on NWA WP award ticket.

I have an AIRTEL pre-paid SIM for Seychelles and SFR pre-paid SIM for France if you are in the market. I will let them go for a fraction of retail.

Also - as far as hotels go do whatever you can to snag a room at the Hilton on Mahe. INCREDIBLE.
