According to http://www.daily-report.com/ (see the report for Tuesday; story expires a week from the day of this post) Frontier Airlines will soon be flying to Baton Rouge, LA (BTR). The story doesn't give a date for the start of flights and has no official comments on the name of the airline, but makes some inferences that strongly suggest that it is Frontier e.g. that the airport and city was offering $1 million to a LCC if they started direct flights between Denver and Baton Rouge and the LCC based in Denver is Frontier.

That would be good news! F9 used to fly to MSY, but stopped after Katrina. I flew DEN-MSY on several occasions on F9, and every flight was full, so I am not surprised that F9 is interested in Baton Rouge as a chance to get back to Louisiana.

Just a quick note to say that the news is now official. There are multiple billboards for the Baton Rouge airport with welcome Frontier Airlines and the impending announcement was reported on most local news stations.

Frontier will be providing twice daily service with EMB 170 regional jets starting Aug. 15th. The introductory airfare is $218.80 according to the Wed. edition of The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report's (http://www.daily-report.com/). Apparently the first flight is already sold out.
