Hertz - Hertz in Japan/Korea

Does anyone have any experience renting Hertz Cars in Japan and Korea?

I have talked to Hertz International about renting and they say that Hertz points using the ZE1 code is not valid. In addition, PC codes that state ASIA (participating locations) will earn double points/miles are also not valid. To make matters more complicated, the locations I selected can not be booked online and I have to wait 3 days to receive confirmation of rentals. So my questions are:

1) What is a good miles/upgrade hertz code to use that is valid in Japan and Korea?
2) Does anyone know of a way to get written confirmations for Hertz rentals without having to wait for 3 days?

Hertz in Japan uses Toyota Rent-A-Car, so the location you chose is probably a TRAC location, which is why they need the confirmation period since they don't have access to TRAC reservation systems. If you speak Japanese, you can try and contact the location directly to confirm vehicle types and make special requests -- I've done that before, though from the Hertz side you still won't have a confirmed reservation until they get the information themselves.

And not only that, but it is widely known that TRAC locations do not carry a big fleet either so they will have to shuffle inventory around unless they cannot accomodate your request.

Ok, that makes sense. I am glad I asked because the Hertz rep told me to look for a hertz sign. So I guess I am out of luck when it comes to earning points or miles or using a hertz PC code. I googled TRAC and found the US rental system but it appeared to be a seperate system from TRAC Japan.

Is there an English website where I can reserve online from the TRAC locations? ( I do not speak or read Japanese)
