Air New Zealand Air Points - HKG-LHR in Y -- what to expect?

Hi all --

I'll be taking the NZ HKG-LHR flight this week in Y. I've never flown NZ before, so am wondering what I can expect in terms of meal/drink/snack services on this route.

Also, looking on the website, this route isn't listed has having the new IFE system with PTVs, is this still the case?

The "Premium Economy" product was full when I booked my flight... but is there a chance I could upgrade at checkin, if there are seats available, like what UA does with Economy Plus?

Finally, as a *G on UA, can I pre-book exit row seating?

All 747 and 777 a/c have the new ptvs and avod in all classes. HKG-LHR uses 747 thus has the new IFE.

Sometimes paid upgrades are available at check in, and of course a small chance of op-up if economy oversold and too many show up for check in (however as 1P you are behind any NZ*G travelling in Y in priority for op-ups).

Yes exit rows can be pre-booked. However no seat selection is guaranteed. Being exit row, check in (or gate agent or FA) can move you if they don't think you are capable of operating the emergency exit.
