Hi, I've been using the Forum for a while, but haven't come across this terminology until looking a the post re RTW price increases today. Is this a 'grading' of airlines, or something else? Does it impact RTW only, or other pricing / service levels?

There are 9 standard Star Alliance award. You may find them abbreviated as follows:
YRTW1
YRTW2
YRTW3
CRTW1
CRTW2
CRTW3
FRTW1
FRTW2
FRTW3
The first letter stands for the class of service: Y for economy class, C for business class and F for first class.
"RTW", obviously stands for "Round The World"
The last letter stands for the number of miles allowed on the RTW: 1 for 29,000, 2 for 34,000 and 3 for 39,000.
I hope I got this right, as I just wrote it from memory.

The codes listed are not awards; they are paid Round-the-World tickets.
Star1 (RWSTAR1) is up to 29,000 miles, Star2 34,000 miles, and Star3 39,000 miles. The Y, C, or F letter preceding STARn indicates class of service.
There's also a similar code for the Starlite RTW in Y, but I dunno that one.
This may be a silly question, and it may have been answered already (and if so, I apologize, but a quick search didn't reveal an immediate answer), but.....what is the fare structure of such RTW tickets? Or, perhaps more correctly, where can I find such information? I assume that it'd be different depending on who's ticketing...
I've done a couple of RTWs, but that's always been "on business" and something our corp. travel agent worked out.
Anyone knows of a "HOWTO" on *A RTWs? or "RTWs for dummies"? :D
