I'm sure what it means is "All booking classes that normally earn miles are eligible for the double miles promotion".
Besides, 2 x 0 is still 0 ;)

Looked at the Aero plan site, but cant find many details on the programme, I am thinking about joining toget *G this year.
I have the below flights in May:
Date From To Miles Carrier book class
May AKL LHR 11405 ANZ W
May LHR AKL 11405 ANZ W
May AKL LAX 6504 ANZ P
May LAX JFK 2475 UA W
May JFK LAX 2475 UA W
May LAX AKL 6054 ANZ P
Total 40318
Which is about 27k excluding the P fares. My question is will I recive double for the AKL-LAX-LHR, as it will credit as AKL-LHR, I assume I would get n double miles for LAX-LHR-AKL (note I have a 10 hour transit in LHR only).
I was planning on putting to BMI, where I will get silver for 16k and then 12 months to do 38k for gold, but if I can swing Gold on AC that would be great!
I assume AC is Jan to Dec earning, so I would need to fly som more in 2007, my remaing flights are all awards in C at present, so no miles earned, any advice would be great.
thanks,

I doubt AKL-LHR will qualify since you are not ticketed as AKL-LAX or AKL-SFO.
Your P fare AKL-LAX will also not qualify, since not mileage earning in any program (except by mistake).
Normally promos for bonus miles are award miles only, unless otherwise stated.

If you're on NZ 2 all the way through, then you won't get the bonus because it will post to Aeroplan as a single AKL-LHR segment. If you can arrange it so there's a stopover or flight number change at LAX, then you'd be ok.
Based on past experience, the bonus miles with AC would not be EQMs (ie you'd get 100% EQMs and a further 100% bonus miles).

I've been contemplating a switch to BD since I'm planning a move to the UK this year. Here's the pros and cons as I see them:
AC is definitely the easiest way to get to *G. You only need 35k EQM, plus if you qualify mid-year, the status is valid up to the following February + 1 year (ie Feb '09).
The upgrade opportunities you get as an AC*G (assuming you will ever fly on AC) are excellent, albeit now slightly reduced from past years. BD gives you upgrades too, but AC of course is a much bigger airline with a far more extensive long-haul network.
BD on the other hand has better earning for C class travel, and a 25% elite bonus that is valid on all *A partners including NZ. (AC gives a 50% bonus on AC, and 25% only on LH/BD/NH)
BD also has the excellent cash+points scheme for rewards.

Aeroplan are offering double miles on NZ AKL-LAX and AKL-SFO flights between May 1st and July 31st.
Something to consider, perhaps, for those doing a mother's day promotion MR :)

It's probably not such a big deal, but if you qualify on October 16 your *G status would not be active until 1 January 2008 - but would then be good for 14 months until 28 Feb 2009. Qualify before October 15, and your status is good from that qualification date until 28 Feb 2009.
I assume AC is Jan to Dec earning, so I would need to fly some more in 2007 ... any advice would be great.Note that aeroplan have a 500 mile minimum per sector. So if, for example, you needed to fly from NSN to AKL, NSN-AKL direct would give you 500 miles, but NSN-WLG-AKL would give you 1,000. In eligible booking classes of course. So if you go the aeroplan route and are getting close to qualifying, some flexi-saver domestic hops might help.
