Hi,
Will Air New Zealand through check bags on to a BA flight (seperate ticket?)
The routing is HKG-LHR on NZ and LHR-CDG on BA.
Thanks!

Unfortunately I can't give you any first-hand experience connecting to BA - they have (at LHR, LAX and AKL) through checked me onto various airlines with sep. tickets - UA, BD, QF. I think once LH as well.
One thing you might come up against is that at times the HKG check-in staff are a little bit hesitant: the times I've checked in they have often been consulting a folder guiding them through the NZ processes. Perhaps the NZ system is unfamilliar to the staff? If they are contract staff from CX they may have some experience through checking onto BA. Or perhaps the city check in staff would be a better option?
Hopefully someone with more direct knowledge will step in here....

BA tends not to allow interlining at LHR except with one world airlines. Whether NZ check in can override that I do not know.

Thanks for the replies. This is for a HKG-CDG trip (one way.) HKG-x/LHR-CDG was coming to $650 but I will go with Lufthansa ($1050) because rechecking bags etc. at LHR will be a nightmare.
Cheers

Personally for $400 pp I would put up with a bit of hassle at LHR.

$125 would go if the NZ flight was delayed and I missed the LHR-CDG BA portion (non changeable) I also arrive over 5 hours later
