Hi Folks,

I am due to book flights within South America
GIG-IGU
IGU-BUE
BUE-LIM

All flights will be within 3 weeks as only on a short trip and i have found that the travel passes do not suit my itinery, which means i need to book 3 seperate one way flights. The prices have fluctuated in the last 2 weeks and i am unsure of whether to book now or later?
I have been told to wait till i get to the countries to book, but with such a short travel time i cannot be flexible or wait a day or 2 for available flights.

I am flying in October so have time on my hands, but when to book?

Thanks in advance for any responses :)

Daniel

If you are flying into SA on a oneworld alliance carrier, you might want to consider LAN's SA airpass. It just might be the least expensive option for you, although featured prices are not what I would consider to be "cheap".

If you absolutely have to travel on specific dates, I would not wait until you arrive in country to book. It's just too risky, as flights really can fill up (especially the flights in/out of IGU).

Unless the price is spectacular right now, I'd probably keep checking over the next few months to see if they go down a bit, though there is no guarantee it will get any cheaper.

For the flight from GIG to IGU, be sure to price out Gol Transportes, as they are often cheaper than TAM for that route. There is also a TAM airpass which might work, though it sounds like you've already expolored the airpass options without luck.
