...fight!
JW is pricier than GH and newer.
Saw over at some threads that some swear by GH. How does it compare to the JW (which I liked quite a bit when I stayed there 2 yrs ago).

go for the LM. since it's still new, it's rates haven't topped out yet. the nearby radisson also isn't bad and is much cheaper than the rest for some reason (maybe the subpar bedding that my boss complains about!). as nice as it is, the GH is a PITA because it's on the wrong side of the river. btw, i lived over there 3 years ago and i was stuck there 2 weeks ago at a conference.... so i've had ample time to reflect. if you want to experience shanghai, stay in puxi!

Meetings necessitate that I stay in that area. I know.

Where are your meetings? (I ask because the GH is in Lujiazui while the JW is in Tomorrow Square.) The LM is just on the other side of People's Square from the JW. Meanwhile, the Radisson is a few blocks north.

One tip. If you are visiting when a high pressure system is building over Shanghai, and skies are clear and bright, the views from the highest hotel (from ground floor) in the world is awesome. And to skeptics ready to pounce, yes, the skies do clear up and you can see for miles...just not every day. For an OTO (one time only) experience, stay high above the Huangpu. Otherwise....the Marriott.
