Emirates Skywards - What is up with Skywards?

I was looking to book a Skywards trip, but things did not look good seeing as how my preferred flight was showing J0 and C0. Yet to my surprise, there was tons of award availability?! :confused:

So bascially EK is willing to release a J award seat on EK 004 (good for me ^ ) but is not willing to even sell a FULL FARE ticket!

I wonder why they do this....

I'm not having such luck, I tried booking a J award ticket online from JFK-DXB in Oct 2007 but there are no seats available even though the full fare ones are plenty :confused:

Are you looking via Sabre? If so, there is an issue (intentional or not) whereby EK/UL availability in premium cabins sometimes shows completely zeroed out even though there are plenty of seats for sale. I always try to shortsell a seat even if the flight shows zeroes, since most of the time the seat comes back as confirmed right away.

Also showing zeroed in Apollo, Worldspan and Galileo, but I think you may be right: EK seems to feed false availability to many systems.

If you can't find seats on EK202/204/206, then you might try EK6302 / 12 via LGW, although you may (I am not 100% sure) have to redeem two seperate awards: one EWR-LGW and one LGW-DXB
