This is great. Thanks.....Every time one of these promos comes out I take a copy and send a letter to the Exec VP of Customer Service for AmEx. Within a couple of weeks I get a call from his assistant who tells me that I was not targeted but because of my high spending they will credit me with 20,000 bonus SPG points as an accomodation. Keeps me happy with SPG AmEx.

So yesterday I get this email with the subject: 'Earn More Starpoints'

Great I think, here comes the 20% promo! But the copy read:

Dear OLIVER xxxx,
Whether you're booking a hotel room or just paying bills, use your Card for everything, and your Starpoints will add up faster.1 You can enjoy your first free night2 before you know it — with no blackout dates, 365 days a year.3
Earn double Starpoints on stays at participating Starwood Hotels or Resorts and purchases made at select Starwood retail outlets, such as Bliss® Spa and The W Hotels Store.4
Plus, you can achieve Gold Preferred Guest® status.5 With it, you'll earn Starpoints even faster and receive more preferred room upgrades.

 ...? The fine print had the usual AX SPG terms.

I'm guessing due to my high spending I never qualify either. I'm putting in close to $1M this year, and what do I get? (Close to 1M points, but nothing more.)

On the SPG forum, there was a post by someone who obviously called customer service and was informed that the promotion was for cardmembers who had been with the program for 6-7 months... :(
