I am flying from HPN to FLL in May. I just received an email that the flight time has changed and the HPN-FLL flight will now be 8:05am-11:50am (orignially it was 7:05am-10:50am).

I bought a connecting flight on USAiraways from FLL-Key West. That flight leaves at 1:05pm. I think I am cutting it close and may have to adjust my jetblue flight now, especially since I wanted to check a bag.

Do you think landing on JetBlue at 11:50 and having to switch terminals for a 1:05pm flight is doable if I didn't check a bag?

If you don't check a bag, I would say it should be fine considering everything (weather, traffic, etc.) runs smoothly. I would think HPN (although I'm not familiar with that airport) is much quicker when it comes to departing on time than JFK. However, if checking a bag - 1 hr. and 15 minutes is not nearly ernough time...unless the jetBlue flight arrived early and the US flight was delayed.

Doable and rushed if B6 and US are on time. You'll want to check in for US Air (online or at HPN) before leaving NYC. Otherwise a check-in at US Air could be a few precious minutes.

For travel between Terminals 1 and 3 in FLL, I assume they have a bus that takes pax to different terminals. There's also the Rental Car Center bus although sometimes they only shuttle between a specific terminal and the Rental Car Center instead of doing a trip to all terminals. Finally, you can walk it in about 5 to 10 minutes if you're fairly fit.

If I were you I'd be aware of alternate travel plans. (if you miss your US Air flight, is there another one? Can you take an earlier flight to FLL, say from JFK?)

Good luck.

personally I wouldn't risk it.

even when flying Jet Blue directly with connecting flights they recommend 3 hours between each leg of the trip. Here you don't even have that luxury flying two different airlines.

check out some alternatives

Airlines have been known to accemdate passengers when schedule changes are made. I've never done it personally with B6 but have done it for no fee with both CO and NW. Call their 800 number and ask if they can put you on the 6:25 AM flight out of LGA (Flight #371). You'll be down there by 9:17 (scheduled time) or so.

I called B6 and switched to an earlier flight out of JFK. No problem at all, they were willing to accomodate since they changed the flight time on me.

Not optimal, as my ride, now has to drive me all the way to JFK instead of HPN, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I now have 2.5 hours in between my flights, probably more than I need, but at least I leave room for a little bit of a delay. Plus, I really need to check a bag since it will be a 7 day trip. Can't do that with just a carry-on.

I am flying USAirways down to Key West, but just realized that Continental flies out of the same terminal as B6 in FLL. If I happen to do the same flight combination again, I will choose CO instead as at least I could have stayed in the same terminal and probably rushed to make the connection with 1hr 15min.

doesn't Jet Blue's Cape Air service the Florida Keys?

Yes, they serve Key West, Fort Myers, Sarasota, and Tampa, but they don't have a codeshare with Jetblue for those flights. I think they're considered a Continental Connection, but I'm not sure.

Worst case scenerio if you missed the connection, there is bus service ($70RT)... About 3 hours each way, beautiful scenery to boot.

Try to avoid this option. The bus interior smells like it's cleaned with gasoline.
