American Express Membership Rewards - Priority Pass Major Glitch

Got to the airport in West Palm Beach for my Continental flight only to find out that there was a major delay. No problem, I have the Priority Pass thanks to AMEX. Called to find out the lounge here is the Delta Club Room. Only problem is that it is in another teminal wing and my CO boarding pass won't get me through security!
Called AMEX and they tried to work it out by calling the lounge and asking that a pass be sent to the ticketing desk, but there is no telephone for outside calls at the lounge! In the end, I had the Priority Pass, there was a lounge and it was impossible to get to it.
Any solutions to this problem? Seems like it could be a frequent issue.
Thanks.
Any solutions to this problem? Seems like it could be a frequent issue. No solution, I think, though perhaps not as widespread as we may think. At major US and European airports, there is often a sterile area beyond the insecurity checks from where you can walk to different wings. That helps. Physically separated terminals will always be a problem for PP cardholders, though.

In PBI?

CO does not have a PC in PBI.
Some times you can get around this, but usually you have to be an actual member of the carrier's lounge plan to get a gate pass to use the lounge in a different terminal. You'd have the same problem at MCO (DL lounge in a different security area from CO gates).

Just buy a refundable delta ticket and go in.

For those of us who fly southwest from time to time, often I’ve found that my priority pass option is hard to use because the legacy airlines gates or terminals are far far away from the southwest gates, often making it not worth the trouble to go way across the airport to use the priority pass, for example Phoenix. One that you can use but is difficult is in Kansas City, the Delta lounge is inside the Delta gate, so first of all you have to walk across the airport, then go through the Delta gate and security (each gate has its own security in KC) show security your SW boarding pass and priority pass then they will let you inside the Delta gate to use the lounge.
But its better than no pass at all, when it works its great.

I use lounge passes other than my main carriers (UA).
You have to plan your lounge activities based on each airport and the terminal layout. PBI only has the DL club since the US club closed there.
Just buy a refundable delta ticket and go in.
There needs to be seats available for every traveller, which isn't a foregone conclusion at a second tier Florida airport in March. Further, you need boarding passes to go through security, which means you must check-in and will cause substantial inconvenience to the gate agents when your party "no shows" after check-in :td: .

Buy one in 'F' and you'll make a frequent flyer very happy when they get their battlefield upgrade.

Not really. Once you get past security just call and cancel the ticket. Gate agent probably would not have even noticed.

Coming from a former gate agent, it is really not too big a deal when somebody noshows. Normally they make an announcement for last call with the pax name and in my airline's case, we would check incoming connections or the pax PNR to see if that pax was on another flight. If we couldn't find anything, life went on. If the pax showed up, rebooking was simply a few keyboard presses away...
If anything, it was barely a minor inconvenience. It's more of a pain in the @$$ when the pax is coming from a flight in another terminal and we had to wait till the last minute for departure.

How's this a glitch with Priority Pass? I had the same problem when I was a CO PClub member too: the DL counter at MCO wouldn't give me a pass so I could go to their CRC.
The DL counter at another airport did give me and my wife gate passes so YMMV. And there's always the buying a fully-refundable ticket trick.

Rofl, how on earth is that a glitch????
Why on earth would you try to go to another terminal to go to a lounge anyway? What a waste of time.

Because you can. if the terminals are not connected then you need to exit the terminal you are in and go the the other terminal. Explain to the security agent that you are going to that lounge, and show them your boarding pass.
I had a same situation in MSY. More importantly how do you get Priority Pass card with Amex???

In normal circumstances I agree, but the OP wrote "there was a major delay". If the departure were delayed by several hours it could be worthwhile.

You get two of them free with the Platinum Charge card. (in the UK anyway, I guess the USA is the same)
Priority Pass is not included with USA issued Platinum cards. Two are included with the UK issued International Dollar Card, but there are other tradeoffs.

Good example is MUC. All the PPass lounges are in T1, while all *A fly into T2. There are quite a few airports with this problem

PP is only included with UK Platinum Amex. With US Platinum you only receive complimentary access to participating Continental Airlines Presidents Club®, Delta Crown Room Club®, and Northwest Airlines WorldClubs® in airports around the world
There are other differences between the two programs.

What's MSY? Missouri?
New Orleans, LA USA - Louis Armstrong (MSY) Don't ask me how thy came up with MSY...
What does MSY stand for?
MSY stands for Moisant Stock Yards. Before the airport was built, an early aviation pioneer crashed a small plane on the property--John Moisant. John was born in 1868 in Kankakee, IL. His death in a crash on what was then a Harahan Plantation occurred while he was preparing to try for a new world's record for sustained flight. After the crash, the property was turned into stock yards for cattle and named after him--Moisant Stock Yards. Then the airport was built on the same site. Since most residents knew where Moisant Stock Yards were located, the name was used as the first identifier for the airport. The original name of the airport was Moisant Field. The name was changed to New Orleans International Airport, but the identifier stayed the same since it is extremely difficult to change the airports identifier in all of the publications.
