Travel Technology - Vista user with slow file transfers?

I was going insane over slow file transfers under Vista... Then I found a hotfix for it, now my copies are blazing again :)

I'm having same problem. I cant believe Microsoft makes people call a pay-per-minute line to get a fix for software they already paid top dollar for.

Did you actually download the fix from Microsoft - or did you use that unoffical link at that webpage?

I took my chance and installed the unoffiical hotfix. Worked like a charm.

Moving 1.83Gb from one drive to another (these are SATA Raptors)

Without the hotfix: 8 minutes
With the hotfox: 55 seconds

Moving 1.83Gb from one machine to another (Gb lan)

Without the hotfix: 22 minutes
With the hotfix: 1 minute 20

Scott, you know what you're doing and I just did a full backup of my computer, so I'm going to give it a try. I'll report back.
