Asiana Club - does any asiana longhault aircraft have air nozzles?
By now I have experienzed OZ in all three classes and four different longhaul aircrafts.
None of them had dirigible air nozzle or visible vents at all. Overall cabin airflow felt very low, just enough to prevent crew and pax suffocation.
The worst was my recent experience on the A330 (not you Triple3 should you read that). The air was stifling and there was an unpleasant stench of sweat, food, and spices ruining the overall ol flight experience. My 777, new 777, and 747 experiences were probably only better as the load of pax was very, very light in all cases.
I just don't get it - great food, good FAs, new aircraft with great working AVOD (the 333 that is not the old 777 and the dreadful 747) and then they nearly choke their passengers.
Do all Asiana birds exhibit this major flaw?

I just flew F ICN-LAX and there are air nozzles, very strong ones, above the seats that I opened (just one was enough) and I even needed my blanket--I'd heard OZ's flights can be warm... extreme heat on public transport can be a common complaint from Westerners in Japan and Korea, from my 6+ years living there, though of course YMMV.

Thanks for the update. I have a very mixed itin coming up again with OZ and the coach ride will be on the Airbus. I fear that it will be nozzle-less once more  .

Have to withdraw my initial rhetorical question: the 744 in the upper does indeed have nozzles :) .
Not that the upper deck is as great otherwise...
I'm with you about the air nozzles. I'm wondering though if it's totally an airline issue or it's not also an aircraft issue. For example, I've never seen an air nozzle on any Airbus aircraft while I've never seen a B737 without air nozzles. I think all or almost all B747's I've been on had air nozzles, but don't remember Asiana's B747's as it's been a very long time since I was on one of those. I know that with some aircraft it is an option, and any airline that chooses not to order a plane with air nozzles is making a huge mistake IMHO. But is it an option with all aircraft? I really hate the smaller Airbus aircraft as the heat is sometimes almost unbearable without the air nozzle when parked on the tarmac. I've always been quite comfortable on either A330's or B777's without air nozzles, but usually fly TG with those aircraft so don't know if that's any different than Asiana or not. But on the A330's and especially with the B777 there is noticeably more airflow in the cabin than on the smaller Airbus planes.
In general I've seen much fewer air nozzles on Asian planes than in North America, so I think Asian airlines generally opt to not order their planes with the air nozzles if given the option. They really should wake up to the fact that for many Western travelers the lack of air nozzles can be a significant factor. I'd personally choose one airline over another if it meant the difference between air nozzles or not, especially on a smaller plane.

Hmm. TG aircraft I have been on did not have the air nozzles, 743, 744, A300, A346. All the A320 I have been on had the air nozzles. I cannot recall if the Ezyjet 737 (I know it was years ago) had them but if they are a cost cutting measure for, installation, maintenance and running then surely all LCC would not have them.
The OZ flights I had the 777 in day during summer was unbearable, but the FA did get the pilots to drop the temperature. The 747, winter and at night so there really was not much of an issue there.

I fly TG 737's all the time and they all have the air nozzles. All 737's in Asia I've ever been on have them including several LCCs. I've also been on probably all of TG's A300's and none of them have the air nozzles. I've been on a few different SQ Airbus aircraft but can't recall which models and none of them had air nozzles and were perhaps the hottest aircraft I've ever been on with the blaring Singapore sun and heat. I complained a couple times to the flight attendant, but to no avail as the cabin temperature never changed.
I do notice however that the business class cabin seems to be cooler than the economy cabin on many airlines. This is particularly noticeable to me on TG A300's. Business class is very pleasant while economy is a real oven.

The OZ 747 in F and Y and the 777 in all classes have no nozzles. LH's A320s all have nozzles, LH's 747 have no nozzles in Y.
OZ A332 had no nozzles, QF's and LX' A332s do.
So while there might be a trend which you observed, it is by no means a rule. Maybe you travel in a Boeing dominated market which at the same time favours fresh air outlets. This could influence your observation.
But is it an option with all aircraft? I really hate the smaller Airbus aircraft as the heat is sometimes almost unbearable without the air nozzle when parked on the tarmac.
Not sure if all planes can be fitted with them. Are you sure you mean the smaller Airbusses such as A319/320/321 as all carriers I know operate them with nozzles.

I have this impression too.

Same here - as much as I love the food and the service on OZ, I will try to stay away from them for coach rides.
