Hilton HHonors - Any other major country where there's no hiltons at all?

Taiwan doesn't seem to have a single hilton, and there's switzerland (sure, one horribly costly resort hotel in Evian les Bains, about an hour by bus or train from Geneva, closer to Lausanne, across the french border in any case). And I think the Phillipines just has a single hilton in Cebu, none in the capital Manila.

Any others?

While Brunei has a Sheraton (Utama--and it's nice) I don't believe it has a Hilton... I would guess that Somalia is lacking as well.

Russia (but will have one soon) and quite a few other CIS countries still.

There's only ONE Hilton in all of Poland (and not in WRO where I'll be this summer, also no SPG either and the HI isn't near city centre)

The Hilton Basel has been around for years.

The question was MAJOR country, as much as I love Guatemala, it is not a major country, nor is Brunei.

There's the country right next door to the OP, Pakistan

Perhaps it is up to the OP to say, no? But, thanks anyway for your perspicacious lesson in geography.

If you exclude the Conrads, Hong Kong and Indonesia have not had a Hilton for a long time.

None in Norway (where the Hilton family originated). The Scandics are now gone too  (maybe because of unresolvable cultural issues, but more likely for purely economic reasons)

I was looking into a trip to Reykjavík next summer. It has becopme quite trendy with those in the Northeast US, and looks to be quite interesting. There does not appear to be any large chain in Iceland!
