Hilton HHonors - Hilton Visa + Hilton AMEX = Hilton Gold?

I've heard rumors that if an existing HH Gold has both of the above credit cards, he/she will maintain their Gold Status even if the # of stays/nights falls below the normal threshold.

Has anybody else had any experience with this?

I can't say for sure, but I can tell you that I had both cards two years ago and did not have Gold status.

No, for sure!

Spend 20 grand in a calendar year with the AMEX and you'll get Hilton Gold. Don't think there's anything like that with the Visa.

Correct. I have had both for quite some time, so I consider myself informed on the matter ;)

I received silver status for getting the Visa. Nothing just for having the AmEx, but as mentioned above, you get gold status for $20k/year on the AmEx.

Unless there was a recent change with Visa it use to be first year with HH Visa offers Silver.HH AMEX silver as long as you have card.

Silver for just having the Amex also.
