The title says it. I mean made one yourself? Any reason this shouldn't work? I hate to give up my trusty charger and it doesn't look like iGo is going to make one themselves.

JettaTurbo Mar 20, 07, 11:35 am iGo is apparently still working on it (itips blog): Macbook Update.. February 8th, 2007 I know many of you are anxiously awaiting the release of our Macbook/Pro tip. We are still working on it…. Not what you wanted to hear I know, but once we get it, this will be the first place to know! Trip Apr 3, 08, 10:50 pm A more in depth explanation from iGo.com (http://www.igo.com/product.asp?sku=3743616): This tip was scheduled for January 2008 release, but it is now on hold. As an Apple partner, we are hoping to work with Apple for licensing of these products; however Apple does not currently have a licensing program for MagSafe tips. If you are so inclined, please suggest to Apple that they develop a licensing program for MagSafe tips... so we can bring you one for your iGo adapter. Thank you sfmaus asked if someone has 'made their own' and the answer is YES and he also sells them. For more information, check out MCT, Inc (http://mikegyver.com/Store/index.html). It's a bit pricey at $99.00....so I'm debating about whether or not to order one. If anyone purchases one from mikegyver, please post as I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on it. -Trip Arthurrs Apr 3, 08, 11:28 pm sfmaus asked if someone has 'made their own' and the answer is YES and he also sells them. Got my Kensington 120W AC/DC adapter on sale, bought a plug/jack set and some heatshrink from my local electronic parts store, and 20 minutes of my time I can plug in my 17" MBP almost anywhere! I'm rather skilled with a soldering iron, but the mod wasn't too difficult to do (it was actually dead simple for me). |
