According to FAZ: 200k/month
According to FTD: 20k/month
I guess the FAZ is correct in this case.

200.000 pax/month inner-German = 12-14%

Noshow number is incredibly high, if you see LHs overbooking policy. Some 747s are overbooked by 100 pax and still fly out with empty seats. Crazy.

It would be interesting to see which routes do best/ worst for no shows.

Out of HKG on AC, the airline overbooks by up to 100 or more. And the flight departs with an empty seat or two! People in that city go and book on multiple carriers and just don't show. And one would think these are all full fare, so refundable. Crazy

The figures above are valid for inner-german routes. For these routes it's more a question of the day in the week (Monday?, Tuesday?) and the time. Similiar for intercontinental routes. The day of week has an enormous influence which people fly/no show.

FRA-HAM is alway overbooked Friday afternoon.

really depends on destination.
LH has very good prognosis software.

i.e. they overbookd HKG-FRA a lot but only overbook HKG-MUC a little because at the same day for FRA you might have 60 no-shows but for MUC usually nearly everyone appears at the gate.
might be depending on connections.

I heard from LH sources a few months/years ago that Accra was the destination with most noshows.
