I don't know if this is the right place to ask but since Dragonair is now part of CX...

I will be flying KA 480 and KA 481 between Hong Kong and Taipei on 4/5 and 4/9. On my itinerary it shows aircraft as 33L and I am wondering if anyone knows if this is the Type 1A or 1B or Type 2 as indicated in the KA website?

The flight is short but I just want to make sure it is not one of those old KA planes as I am in C and I know the old KA C seats are bad. That was long time ago though. I will switch over to CX if it is the old config.

Anyhow, Thanks for all the information and help!

It's curious but the Seat Map showing on ExpertFlyer doesn't match any of the seatmaps on the Dragonair site. It shows 5 rows of 2-2-2 in J. (Whereas the seat maps for the 486/7 show 7 rows of 2-2-2 as per the Dragonair site for an A330-type 2.)

Someone who knows Dragonair better than me (I haven't flown them for several years) could probably confirm what's going on... possibly the L stands for "Leased" and this is actually someone else's plane?

Somewhat OT, but IMO, the CX HKG-TPE F fligths may be among the best 1 hour flights in the air: decent meal, the same super premium booze as longhaul, great seats and AVOD, amazing FA service, etc...just no PJs or caviar.
