Are you talking about how many points you would EARN by paying $$ for a stay or to REDEEM an award on points already earned?

If it is how many points you would earn, it is 10 x $$ paid base (not including tax and in some cases internet, food etc - varies by hotel). Based on status and myway preferences it could be additional points on top of that.

If your question is with respect to redeeming points, there are 7 basic levels - Opportunity, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. 6 being the highest. Each level has a point value per night. For an above level hotel you talking at least 30,000 points per night. Some hotels offer a few days per year Point Stretcher nights were it would be less points per night.

All of the above information can easily be found on hilton.com, in the Earning Points and Redeeming Points section. Also, spend a little time reading these boards and you will find more information.

Welcome to FlyerTalk!

A little time at HHonors and here will reveal tons of information. In particular, allow me to point out the excellent "sticky" threads at the top of the HHonors page, which have links to properties, threads answering many of the most common questions, etc.

Also, if you like the upper level Hilton properties (Categories 5 and 6) and you have a Hilton HHonors American Express card (earns from 2 to 5 points per dollar, depending on where used, and with no annual fee,) you can use an "AXON" award, 125,000 points for 4 nights, saving you up to 35,000 points at a Cat 6 property. (E.g. we're using an AXON at the Tokyo Conrad, where a comparable room is currently $627 a night at the same time we are staying.)

For the information - I was speaking to redeeming points. Was looking for a ballpark and that helps!
