Presently, RBC and Long Haul seats in Business are very different in terms of length etc. When the new seats come in, will they still be different?

Or are you asking whether the old bed seats from long-haul will be recycled onto regional J? I'm pretty sure that isn't the case, for 3 reasons: seating density, weight and competition (or lack thereof). It makes sense to have a "lesser" J seat for short flights; the problem arises when it starts being used for long-haul flights (like HKG-BNE). I think in a few years, when CX starts having enough planes, all the "medium" long-haul routes that currently have mostly regional J service will have long-haul service (with the new J). And regional will only be for <5 hour flights. sxc Mar 17, 07, 12:27 am I'm crossing my fingers they will put the current angled flat beds into the regional planes, and just set them so that they don't go full recline. That way they can still fit just as many seats into the same space. But this is only wishful thinking.... No beds, sorry! christep Mar 19, 07, 12:25 pm That's not new any more - those seats were first introduced about 4 years ago. After a large number of customer complaints they stopped the refurbishment programmes with the result that about half (?) the regional fleet has the previous generation of "cradle" seats, and the rest have the seats described at the link you gave. Personally I prefer the cradle seats. |
