Recently I flew with Qantas the same route twice in one day. Of course the points only posted for the first set of flights, not the second. That is due to a known error checking process by QFF.

In the past I have always been able to call local number for QFF and get the points credited manually instantly and with no fuss.

This time, despite the consultant being able to see my flight details under my number, they require me to mail the boarding passes to Australia. All because of their own stupid system limitations.

Not happy. Why should I have to go through hoops and spend more time and money to provide QFF with the information they already have? It isn't as if the points are worth much.

The AS system is brilliant. Just get on-line, enter your ticket number and flight details and instantly the points are added to your AS account. Takes less than a minute.

QF & NZ works like that too. Except in QFF's case where their error checking decides you've already been credited and must have the flight number wrong.

Sounds like a case of calling again and hopefully getting someone more helpful. Perhaps you should arm yourself with the ticket numbers/booking references. (I wouldn't mention the earlier call.)

At the very least you should be able to scan your BPs and email the images.

A absolute PITA though ...

I have emailed scanned images of boarding passes before which is much better than snail mail.

And there is another high tech option: Fax. I had no problem faxing them and getting my points.
Talking about IT errors: In my current booking ground staff can not see my QFF number when checking in and tell me it is not in the system. On the website, I can see my reservation but get an error message when clicking on it. Reservations etc. can see my QFF number without any problem.

2 days ago I emailed QFF looking for points credits for Qantas Drive (booked via Qantas directly, with PNR supplied) and Qantas Frequent Flowers.

They sent me back an email asking me to mail in boarding passes.

You get boarding passes when you drive and at the florist?

Update - points & SCs have been credited. I tried again, again the first person I spoke to suggested mailing in the boarding passes. When I gently persisted I was transferred to someone else who was able to manually process.

It seems the knowledge of how to manually process to get around the system error checking is not well known.
