Starwood Preferred Guest - Pool renovation at W LA

At least someone reading this thread might find out before they book. I heard the weather in LA was hot so I booked the W LA solely for the nice pool scene. However after checking in I found out it was closed. There is no mention of this on the web, nor my confirmation email. :mad:

I'm not sure when it will re-open, but I am checking out tomorrow.

Incidentally, I looked at booking a reservation for the coming weekend yesterday and I did see a message. Go to http://www.starwoodhotels.com/whotels/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=97518 and this message is at the left side:

Hmm. I didn't see that anywhere in the booking process and it is not on my confirmation that they emailed me two days ago.

That is very unfortunate. Maybe they have a deal with one of the other hotels in the area for you to be able to use their pool ? I know several hotels I stayed at in the past had an offer like that in place when their pool or fitness room was under construction. That doesn't give you the W pool scene, but some pool is better than no pool in this weather :cool:

There is a notice at the front desk when I checked in yesterday. I really didn't read it because I left early in the morning.

Call the hotel for detailed info on a re-opening date.
