It really depends on who you get on the line, my experience with the German CC staff so far is good, the LA CC staff seems much less knowledgeable and even recommended to call during daytime, since they did not know the answers.

But after all I am not surprised as I know how hotlines are stuffed http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif .

I agree with curt. It would be the first promotion I know of that would count as status miles...

unfortunately it is No, as curt said and Mizu confirms.

flight miles, class bonus (100% business, 200% first) and status bonus (25%) on all Star-Alliance flights count as LH miles&more status miles - but not/never any promotional boni.

Maybe LH mistook you question.... I think they thought you meant that if you flew to Australia would you get STAUTUS miles on your flights there. Not the bonus miles!

I asked if the bonus miles will count in addition to the normal status miles.

But as I did one roundtrip BRE-FRA-ZWS-FRA-BRE today I won´t need these bonus miles anymore.
And the train from ZWS to FRA was full!!! Even not enough sanwiches for everybody...

I did one 'flight' FRA-ZWS-FRA on May19th and both segments were packed, too. So unfortunately they can fill coach 12 without a new AiRail promotion... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
