Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - ? on flight in a couple of hours time

Good morning all

Just a quick question...

Flying on CX104 today MEL-HKG today sched to depart at 1540.

Yesterday the flight was showing 9's across the board in economy, JCDI 2 and F 3.

Looked this morning (seatcounter) and the flight is zero'd out in all classes.

Then checked on the CX website and it says economy 'full', business 'full' but for first it says 'N/A' (instead of full).

Does this mean there has been an aircraft change to a regional perhaps? I just rang Cathay here in oz and they still reckon it's a three class, but I have little confidence in their answers given their incorrect info to me previously on a couple of point.

There is an alternative flight out of SYD at 1600 which is showing F available, and I would try to get that if the MEL flight has been downgraded.

Anyone able to confirm for me what's up?

With regards and thanks in advance (off to pack now!)

LME etc etc

I think it's more likely that the flight has been closed for booking and has been handed over to airport control. I'm not entirely sure of this so I would be happy to have others' input.

Thanks for the reply sxc - that is what I thought - although the SYD flight, leaving 10 mins later was still showing as available.

However, done some more research and it looks like First always comes back as N/A when full as I doubt all three SYD flights would have been changed to regional jets today!

Expertflyer seatmap is still showing 3-class, but with 6 out of 8 seats taken in F and all but 4 in J. Economy still space on the seat map, but far fewer economies do ASR. Availability is 0 across the board. I guess it's going to be 3-class and full.

CX would only use the regional aircraft for its australian routes only if the original aircraft to be deployed has gone mechanical and that no other 3 class aircraft is available.

It is not a common occurence.

Hi all and thanks again for the replies...

At airport now (amazing - zero immigrations queues... like a ghost town here)... 'full flight' was being announced by check-in staff when people were asking about seats. Looks like F is now full because seat 2K is inoperable (broken recline).

2K me thinks... but then this isn't Qantas!;)
