What gives.... I was pricing out Enterprise for a road trip I'm taking at the end of March and this is really pissing me off:

second week of March, compact car $104++ (the damn fees are like $100 ...)
third week of March, compact car $120++ (what the hell with all the fees?)
last week of March, compact car $165++ (why did I book this week I don't know?)

Can anyone suggest what is happening here, I thought march was supposed to be slow? Should I wait till the day before to book at possibly reduced rate, or am I SOL because there is something happening in Phoenix at the end of March that I'm not aware of and now I'll be paying more for the car rental than I paid for the airline tickets?

Please help if you can.... I'm looking at Enterprise primarily because my school's alumni ID waives the under 25 fee (or so it did in NY) I'm a few months away from my 25th birthday and I really can't afford to pay $20 a day for the damn fee.

thanks,

Guys, I caused my own price hike!

You know how I was checking the prices every week to see what week would be best to travel, well I'm pretty sure I contributed to my own ... getting ripped off by simply checking it so much!

Two weeks since I "booked" my reservation for an Intermediate at $165 a week, I searched today and that same week for an Intermediate they charge $135... +tax Sweet!

So I dug in my gmail account, found the confirmation e-mail and changed my reservation to reflect the savings.... nearly $50 bux is a pretty big deal for a week's rental... and now I'm happy!

PS. Or of course someone else could have cancelled their car and the price went down who knows, but now I'm happy!
