Thrifty - Blue Chip free day with CDW coverage; heres how

Ok for those who know TY has the Blue Chip promo where every 16 days of renting gets You a coupon for 1 free day.

Problem is that all CCs CDW works only if You have the whole rental charged to your CC. So when I picked up my car on Tues, I asked if I could hand in the coupon when I return the car since I might need to use the coupon for a rental on Sun that will cost me alot more then this one. The mgr said no problem at all. Since it wasnt a TY owned location , guess she was hoping Id use iy elsewhere.

Now had the car been damaged I woould have kept the coupon (actually thrown it away it expires on 3/3) and left the charges on my CC for the CDW coverage. Since I had no car problems I gave in my coupon, and paid the $6 in txs and fees.

Had I given them the coupon when I picked up the car then the CCs CDW coverage wouldnt have covered me and I would have been forced to buy TYs. I dont own a car so I dont have Car Ins, some policies will cover You on rentals, but then you must make a claim with your ins company.

My rental was at SAV where its known that you pull up and there is no one there to check You in, and drop the keys at the main desk and get your receipt., this is with almost Every Car Rental Company operating there.

What I did was to ask that the car be checked in with me in their presence and it be noted that it came back as it went out. which they did. anything they wish to ding me with will be disputed with the CC since they already signed the car back in AOK.

BTW I havent been Dinged at lesat not as yet.

I've found thrifty and dollar (same company) to be the worst offenders...

I take digital pictures of my rental cars before & after.
Only takes 60 seconds...

we videoed it, and we actually had to use it onetime. we burned the video to a dvd and sent it to MC to support our claim. There was no question asked regarding the repair estimates - $2282 to be exact.

Has anyone used the Walmart code WMRT? Are there any strings attached to this code, i.e. do I need some form of ID, or can anyone use it? Please advise.
