Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - CX waitlists and OW Emeralds

My TA told me today that I am currently waitlisted in D class on a couple of regional CX flights. (It is not a ONE ticket, but an actual 4 segment D class round-trip ticket, with two waitlisted segments. Will be issued on CX stock, with all segments on CX metal, if that makes any difference.)
The flights currently show:
[KVS Availability Tool 2.7.1/Platinum - Apollo: ITN/US-BMB] (http://KVS.UnrealNetwork.com/Tool/?R)
J7 C0 D0 I0 Y9 B9 H0 K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0

So do CX flights normally open up closer to departure? (Above info is from approximately a month prior to departure.)
And would the fact that my OW Emerald number (BA Gold) is in the booking make any difference to getting a seat released? Or do CX only look at waitlist requests for MPC members...
I'm really quite keen to get on the direct CX flights, rather than connect on TG via BKK! Any advice much appreciated.
TIA!

Go back to your TA.
He/She should be able to contact CX and ask them to expediate the waitlist above your current Oneworld Emerald priority waitlist status.
There are still tricks of the TA trade (though not many know how to really) to be able jump waitlists queues!

Thanks!
My TA already thinks I'm a freak who is after her job, as I seem to know more than her! I'll try and give her a gentle prod to go back to CX and see what she manages.

Oneworld Emerald does get priority waitlist on CX (isn't this an Oneworld benefit?)
As GB suggested, if your agent actually KNOWs an inside CX contact then your WL can be expedited relatively easily. The flight looks busy but definitely not impossible to get a seat..
Good luck!

If she is new and has not established her connections, that is understandable. Most TAs work with consolidators and there is always someone to contact.
My TA is pretty good on CX flights. She got me a seat once when waitlisting was already disallowed (I suppose she needed to put my MPC number in the waitlist before CX could do a seat guarantee - I could not figure out how she did that). She also got four tickets for my family in Jan for my Feb CNY trip after waitlisted for two days (I could not do seat guarantee for the entire family).

As a non MPC Emerald, I have cleared every CX waitlist I have ever been on, even on zeroed out flights. Usually within a few days of going on the waitlist. This has always been with tickets purchased directly through CX though.

That does sound promising! I'll start pestering the TA to call CX tomorrow.

She can't really call just anyone at CX.. she has to follow a certain protocol that can be sometimes a closely guarded secret!
Remember CX reserves a limited number of seats in J and Y for their DM and GO members' seat guarantees. CX revenue department may allow certain seats to be released for other preferred passengers.

My experience has been good at clearing full flights, but not good at clearing into a lower fare class when confirmed into a higher one. Not really that much of a surprise really.

Well, the exact same thing happened here. CX were quite happy to confirm me in J, but not in D.
Oh well, their loss! Have now bought a SQ F ticket instead of 6 hours each way in regional business on CX!

;)
Of course, instead of a 6 hour nonstop on CX to HKG, I'll now be flying 5 hours to SIN and then a further 3.5 hours to HKG. So somewhat of a detour, but I've decided to stopover in SIN for a couple of nights each way.
And I'm sure experiencing the new new SQ F between SIN-HKG-SIN on SQ 862/861 wouldn't hurt either. ;)
