I already know that I will not get a long haul seat. I would therefore prefer to get the old style business class seat rather than the NRBC seat.

CX flies a 777 and an A330 on this route. Does anyone happen to know which of these flights, if any, has the old style seat?

Thanks.

I don't think there's any consistency - you'd just have to play the odds. You'd need input from the spotters on what those are.

But for me the bigger factor would be that for HKG-BAH the 777 flight is, more or less, a day flight whereas the 330 flight is an overnight, and I would much prefer not having to get off 11 hours in RBC and have to start a day. So 777 to BAH. Coming back they're both overnight so equally bad.

If I take the night flight, I'll have a full day to recoup after landing. I also wouldn't want to come off a redeye in RBC and go straight into a work day.

I wouldn't bother with either flight unless you really need the miles. Once is enough. GF (one stop via BKK) is 16k in F and 10k in J. They have a full long haul product all the way, and it is daily. This coupled with the fact that CX is also a one stop on the return makes it a no brainer for me.
