CommunityBuzz! - Summer Solstice--Anchorage 6/22-24/07

Hunki and I have always wanted to go to Alaska during summer solstice, and this is the year.

We just learned that they are having a Mayor's Marathon (http://www.mayorsmarathon.com/) over the solstice so we decided to go. We will either be doing 5 miles or the 1/2 marathon, depending on how much energy we decide to save up for dancing. ;)

Folks who have no interest in exercise can just eat and drink, day and night.

This is prime time in Alaska so it is smart to plan very, very early. We are staying at the Homewood Suites and will have a car.

Hey, BoyAreMyArmsTired and eastwest, will you guys be around to help plan this, or at least just join us to play?

Well I'll just see what I can do to arrrange that :)

If any attendees need a place to stay, we can probably figure something out. The proprieter of Hotel Eastwest is a good host, but he doesn't offer any points for your stay, and the continental breakfast may consist of well, nothing, but it's clean, safe, and in a cool part of town...

do we have a plan yet and if so what is it?

Honestly, I have not made a plan past making sure I have glide and sunscreen for the race. TH is doing Anchorage Pride and I assume there will be some libations planned after the race?

Seriously, I would be happy to host a mini-doo at my place on Saturday night if anyone is interested. It's only fair considering the SeaDoo bash MD puts on every year.
