Budget Travel - Scoring a free layover in Dubai?

Next month I'm flying New York to Chennai via Dubai (on Emirates, of course), and I'd like to spend a weekend in Dubai. Is there any way to trick/force Emirates to comp me two nights in a hotel during that layover? Or will I have to (shudder) pay for my bed?

I guess you're flying on deeply discounted eco fare?
No worries, just ask at the emirates counter at the airport. They will provide transport, hotel, food and entertainment for you and up to 5 other people for free. You see, you'd better stay a whole week!
Often you don't even have to ask since there will be someone with a sign at your arrival gate who will direct you directly to your limousine (of course, you can jump the queue at immigraton).

As this is not really Budget Travel realted, I'm closing this theread. It may effect OP's budget, but it is not posted in the spirit of true budget travel.
