DeltaFlyingProf Feb 13, 07, 9:33 am I'd love to see that come through! ^ djjaguar64 Feb 13, 07, 1:20 pm I know there are diamonds in South Africa but what is there in Nairobi that would make SQ fly there ? jedison Feb 13, 07, 1:30 pm I know there are diamonds in South Africa but what is there in Nairobi that would make SQ fly there ? Lots of passengers. ph-ndr Feb 13, 07, 1:48 pm I know there are diamonds in South Africa but what is there in Nairobi that would make SQ fly there ? You may have read up on your current politics. Any company in east africa seems to be started or run by Indians, and if it isn't bolted down and can be turned into a trade or energy resource the Chineese tend to buy all of it; it's strange they haven't started it a year or two back. But back to the rumour, has anyone got any more firm info on this one? -A roadwarriorafrica Feb 13, 07, 11:14 pm Tourism in Kenya is booming, and also Nairobi is a hub for Eastern, Sub-Saharan and West Africa. Emirates has a daily double to DXB, Qatar has flights, Virgin starts in June this year to LHR daily. I heard a rumor on the weekend that Kenya Airways is looking at flights to Sydney via Bangkok. djjaguar64 Feb 14, 07, 7:05 am Well, then why isn't SQ flying into GRU ? Emirates will begin their non-stop soon from Dubai . Is it the violence factor in Sao Paulo that detrs them ? roadwarriorafrica Mar 19, 07, 10:02 pm Yesterday's local Standard Newspaper ran a storey that SQ is starting flights in 2 weeks time SIN-NBO. The SQ website has nothing, and when I spoke to my travel agent, she said that they are aware that SQ was starting, but have had no further information. 2 weeks, and no promo??? sounds wierd. KFly Mar 19, 07, 10:24 pm Could this be a codeshare flight with Virgin Atlantic? K Savage25 Mar 19, 07, 10:43 pm Could this be a codeshare flight with Virgin Atlantic? K Quite possible, as no SQ-metal flight to NBO has been announced in SQ's Northern Summer Schedule. http://www.singaporeair.com/saa/en_UK/content/company_info/press_release/NE_1207.jsp kiwiandrew Mar 20, 07, 12:05 am my money is on it being a freight service - I believe SQ have a weekly SIN-JNB-BRU freighter , perhaps hot and high conditions at JNB and high loads are making a refuelling stop necessary ? 9V-JKL Mar 20, 07, 12:06 am my money is on it being a freight service It is:) |
