Are there any flights to FDF that are not starting around 500 USD? I am trying to avoid flying those overcrowded french planes from Paris, so, rather go to the US or other carribean destinations, but any service I find is at least 500 USD plus tax (SJU, SDQ, MIA, ATL, YUL)...

You can take a ferry from St, Lucia (SLU) to FDF. There are also Liat flights via SLU which originate in BGI. There are probably flights from SXM and ANU as well. The Liat / Caribbean Star merger has caused some booking challenges over the past two weeks, but it seems to have settled down now. Try the Liat website at http://www.liatairline.com/.

You can also check at http://www.express-des-iles.com/

There is at least one ship per day operating between St Lucia and Martinique. And the trip is not that long.
However be aware of possible delays... just like for air traffic...

and AF just replaced all airplanes to FDF with brandnew 77W. still a little tourist shuttle in Y, but quite nice in Alizé

I totally agree. The new B 777 are quite nice... in Alize... but the cattle class has remained the same... in terms of legroom...

but still ... ORY - FDF in Alizé should be cheaper than.. lets say... CDG-ATL-MIA-FDF in Y

I agree again, but I think the OP has a problem regarding his company travel policy (mentioned in another thread in the FB section).
After all he might be able to find cheaper flights from London to St Lucia.

My thoughts exactly the OP should be able to find a BA or Virgin out of London to St. Lucia for about GBP300 - GBP500.

From St. Lucia OP could fly Liat to FDF approx USD180 - USD200 or cruise Express des iles approx USD100

Seems expensive and tedious when compared with a direct AF flight from France to Martinique

Are there any Caribbean air passes that allow people to travel frequently between the islands? or at least allow several flights to be purchased at a discount?

Prior to the Liat/Caribbean Star merger I know that Liat offered prepaid travel to elite regional companies. Not sure if this died during the merger.

Unfortunately, the LIAT airpass has been discontinued. When it was offered, it was a very popular and inexpensive way to visit most of the islands between San Juan and Georgetown, Guyana. Service is still offered, albeit at much more expensive prices.
